A must for your Thoroughbred horse racing art collection: the 1st Triple Crown champion!
The beautiful chestnut colt Sir Barton (Star Shoot x Lady Sterling) made history as the very first American Thoroughbred racing Triple Crown winner in 1919, an amazing achievement considering that he went 0-for-6 as a two-year-old and was making his three-year-old debut in the Kentucky Derby. After his Triple Crown victory, Sir Barton was pitted against the legendary Man o' War in a great match race, which he lost by seven lengths. Nonetheless, Sir Barton was in the money in 24 of his 31 races - an excellent record.Rohde's artwork of Sir Barton captures the greatness of the horse. You can purchase Sir Barton prints either unframed or framed under glass in a deluxe brown wood designer frame with an antique white mat. Quote on bottom of print reads: "He was the first to be victorious in that triad of races which would become known as the Triple Crown." Your Sir Barton horse racing art is hand signed and numbered by the artist and is of exceptional quality. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
